The Consumer Advisory Panel is to advise on consumer matters of national importance that may have a direct impact on the Authority's operations and mandate, these include but not limited to:

Technical issues;
Consumer complaints;
Availability and access to services;
Policy issues; and
Strategies to be adopted by the Authority.

SPECTRUM LICENSING FRAMEWORK

The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa hereby calls upon interested parties to submit comments following the publication of its decisions on the licensing of the remaining radio frequency spectrum in the 2.6 and 3.5 GHz bands. The decisions were published in the Government Gazette No 31150 of 17 June 2008. All representations and documents lodged with ICASA shall be open for public inspection by interested parties during the normal office hours of ICASA. Representations and documents that ICASA considers to be confidential will not be available for public inspectio

The Authority has initiated a project on the development of a national Frequency Migration Plan (FMP). This project is aimed at addressing frequency migration of radiocommunications services identified since the first Revision of the South African Frequency Allocation Plans (Band Plans) and Migration Strategies.

The purpose is to align all frequency migrations identified during the evolution of the frequency plans and latest version of National Radio Frequency Plan developed based on the final acts World Radio Conference of 2012 (WRC 2012).
