Title search and placing a Hold
By the end of this video, you will be able to search for a book by its title and place a hold on a book that is issued out.

Thesis search
By the end of this video, you will be able to search for a thesis using the advance search option on the e-wits catalogue.

Database theory part 8.1
By the end of this video, you will know what information is needed for academic writing. You will know what a peer-reviewed journal is. You will know the difference between a popular journal and a peer-reviewed journal. You will know the advantages of using the Wits Library Databases.

By the end of this video, you will be able to broaden or narrow your search by using boolean operators and truncations.

By the end of this video, you will know how to practically use the boolean operators and truncations.

Go to the Library homepage www.wits.ac.za/library
Scroll down to "My Account" and select
Add your surname
Add your student number
Add a Library Pin (Your pin is numerals. Not less than 4 and not more than 13)
Select submit
Repeat Pin again as prompted
Repeat it a third time
Select submit
Congratulations. You've set a Library pin. Log out of your account. You can now use the Libraries Electronic Resources.

Setting your Library Pin
By the end of this video, you will be able to set your Library PIn. In order to use the Library Electronic Resources remotely, it is important to set a Library Pin. With a Library pin, you can also view your Library account to renew books or see the status of books you placed on hold and many more.

Database practical part 1
By the end of this video, you will be able to search a database by keyword and using Boolean operators and truncations.
Database practical Part 2
By the end of this video, you will be able to broaden or narrow your searches.

Keyword, Shelf number & Subject Search
By the end of this video, you will be able to do a keyword search. You will be able to broaden your search by using the shelf number of your results and broaden it further by using the Library of Congress Classification Subjects.

Author search & Booking
By the end of this video, you will be able to search for a book by its author. You will be able to make a booking for overnight material.

Journal and E-Journal search
By the end of this video, you will be able to search for journals on the e-wits catalogue. You will be able to find journals that are not on the e-wits catalogue, by searching the E-journal portal.
