The Education Library supports the activities of the Wits School of Education and therefore maintains a strong print collection in the field of education. All subjects taught at primary school are also covered, as are most high school subjects. The Library also has a large collection of children’s fiction and non-fiction. Light fiction is also stocked.

Books may be renewed twice unless needed by another patron. Renewals may be done from home at https://innopac.wits.ac.za/patroninfo~S0, or by phoning 011-717-3242.
Reserve and Reference materials are for in-library use only.
Fines are charged at 50c per day for books from the open shelves; R2 per hour for Reserve items; and R1 per day for three-day loan items and journals. Fines are paid electronically. Overdue notices are sent automatically to your Wits e-mail address.
By clicking on REQUEST in the e-Wits Catalogue and following the prompts you can place a hold on a book. Upon its return you will be informed automatically by e-mail. The book will be kept aside for you at Counter for one week.
PAST EXAM PAPERS
Print versions of undergraduate and ACE papers from the last four years are kept at REF LB 2366 WIT. Online versions are at http://0-exams-archives.wits.ac.za.innopac.wits.ac.za/handle/123456789/82
DVDs and CDs may be borrowed – ask at the Counter.
The Library has 48 PCs for use by clients. When using Wits PCs, Staff and students need to log on under their own names and passwords. These are provided by CNS. The Library has wireless connectivity. Laptops and tablets can therefore link to the University network. To access the databases paid for by the University, patrons need Library PINs. These are easily self-allocated at https://innopac.wits.ac.za/patroninfo~S0 . The Library catalogue may also be accessed by means of smartphones.
PRINTERS-COPIERS-SCANNERS (MULTIFUNCTION DEVICES)
Black and white: 39c per single side of A4 copy, 35c double-sided. Colour: R2.88 per single side of A4 copy, R5.69 double-sided. Monies are deducted automatically from the patron’s account. Accounts are easily credited by feeding banknotes into the Kudu Bucks Terminal (KBT). The closest KBT is the one in Leseding Block. There is also one at Medical School.
Scanning to e-mail or to memory stick is free of charge.
KNOWLEDGE COMMONS (COMPUTER ROOM)
All patrons are invited to use this 36-PC facility. It is in the basement.
POST-GRADUATE READING ROOM
Honours, Master’s and Doctoral students are invited to use this room for quiet study. The room has three PCs with special facilities for disabled clients. PGs may use these.
