This guide assists researchers with creating and maintaining an online presence in different ways e.g. creating researcher identifiers i.e.ORCID and by using Social Media tools.

SCOPUS AUTHOR PROFILE/ID

A SCOPUS AUTHOR PROFILE is:

  • a unique record of a researcher's publication activity based on peer-reviewed articles and other publications indexed in Scopus
  • a profile includes the author name, affiliation(s), subject area(s), publications, citations, and co-authors.

A SCOPUS AUTHOR ID is:

  • a unique number assigned to an author that assists in grouping together all an author's publications.
  • it helps to distinguish between authors that have similar names or their names can appear differently in different publications.
  • is automatically assigned to an author once he/she has published one article

  • Multiple profiles for a single author
  • Articles listed for an author's profile might be incorrect and need to be added/removed from the profile
  • Spelling of a name is incorrect
  • Affiliation is out of date or incorrect
