The Merriam Webster medical dictionary is now available on your mobile device. The National Library of Medicine (NLM) has made this available via MedlinePlus Mobile. Point the browser on your mobile device to http://m.medlineplus.gov and click on the dictionary link to look up a word.
SciVerse Mobile Applications are apps to help you research where you are and where you need to be. These mobile apps help you gain access to the latest abstracts, articles and books from SciVerse Scopus and SciVerse ScienceDirect. You can access exactly the same journals from your iPhone. The screen is smaller but the familiar content is all there. With SciVerse ScienceDirect iPhone app, you can look up and read a paper, share the PDF, or just explore what's out there at anytime.
First you need to register:
To register in the SciVerse ScienceDirect iPhone app you will need to provide your username and password as registered at sciencedirect.com. To access the full spectrum of content, you will need to register online within your library's network, at www.sciencedirect.com/science/newregistration Once you have supplied this information, you will receive a confirmation e-mail. You must click on the link provided in this e-mail to activate your access to SciVerse ScienceDirect iPhone app. You will only need to confirm your email once. To validate your e-mail address:

The Witwatersrand Health Sciences Library is fully covered for WiFi access, and there are power points at each work station, where you can charge your tablet or cell phone. There is also WiFi coverage in the medicinal garden outside.
